Our Programs

Some of what we do...

Giving from the heart...

The Kiwanis Club of Lafayette has been a consistent and dedicated partner of Lafayette Consolidated Government over the past several years. As the City-Parish President, I rely on the excellent work of community partners like nonprofit organizations to provide for members of our community in areas that the government has few or no resources.

The STEM Station Project is a great example of partnering with the Kiwanis Club of Lafayette Foundation to provide educational play equipment at existing parks throughout the Lafayette area. Staff has worked with students to design and construct the equipment. These interactive games and activities are designed to teach real world applications of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. This project will help to encourage interaction between parents and their children.

While trying to get things done within rigid and complex interpersonal environments, it is refreshing to work with individuals who can retain focus on the important human work at hand. I believe that the vision of Kiwanis Club leaders cuts though bureaucratic barriers that tend to obscure the greater human good that we seek.
